Works on Existing Structures

The new regulations in some cases, and new needs in others, establish the need to adapt or extend existing structures.

In Legorreta it was necessary to build a new arch to an existing stone bridge, in order to increase the hydraulic capacity of the river Oria.

In Getaria, an overhung counterbalanced structure made it possible to create a promenade along the sea, without affecting the succession of mass concrete arches on which the N-634 runs.

The expansion of Pradera and Bekea viaducts through mixed attached beams (project Fulcrum - Dynamis), supports a third lane of the motorway A-8.

The work of adapting Sasiola arch bridge consisted in the construction of a rigid reinforced concrete containment system, supported with a grid of the same material beneath the roadway. The structure is able to absorb impacts without affecting the concrete vaults.

In the La Salle Viaduct in San Sebastian GI-20, a new rigid containment system of reinforced concrete was set, topped by a 2 m noise barriers screen.
